This is my favorite low sugar, go-to smoothie for when I don’t have anything in the house! 🧋 I use frozen tart cherries 🍒 (but you can use any fruit) and then add in my powders: ✅protein powder
✅cocoa powder
✅fiber powder
✅herbal coffee
✅peanut butter

Yep, there’s definitely some things I’ve had to unlearn over the last 20 years. Here are my top three as they relate to metabolic health: #1: Snack all day Snacking does not speed up your metabolism and it’s not great for metabolic health. In fact, snacking all day (especially on high carb foods) can keep your blood sugar elevated and cause weight loss resistance. #2: Eat dessert by itself I used to think it was better not to have dessert right after dinner or at the back end of a large meal. For blood sugar control, better advice may be just the opposite. Having dessert (or a high carb food) directly after your meal, or with your meal, slows digestion and may prevent blood sugar spikes. #3: Eat within an hour of waking The thought here was by eating first thing, whether hungry or not, would jumpstart your metabolism. And this may be fine if you had an early dinner. Now I recommend listening to your body, but after you fasted overnight for at least 12 hours. This offers more benefit at the cellular level than eating first thing in the morning. Okay, that’s my list. Now tell me, what do you have to unlearn?
